Plans are now being developed for at least one permanent memorial honouring those who lost their lives in the Arena attack. The Manchester Memorials Advisory Group has been established to help that process.
The group includes representatives who have been identified based on their understanding of the city and of developing memorials. The Group’s purpose will include overseeing a consultation process in which your views and voices will play a central part.
The consultation will include generating discussion about the meaning and purpose of a memorial(s) and ideas for the location, and the look and feel of the memorial(s). At the end of the consultation process, the Advisory Group will make recommendations to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust who are responsible for overseeing the Manchester Memorial Fund.
The wider community will also have views about the meaning and purpose of the memorial(s) and they will also be invited to participate in the consultation process at a later stage.
